What is the value of coaching?
In working out the price of coaching 1:1 with me, I had to work out the value of what you will receive. But how do you put a price on changing someone’s life?
I took into account the hundreds of hours I have spent training, learning and developing my coaching skills. The thousands of rand, pounds and dollars it cost me to get to where I am today. Finally I considered the impact coaching has the potential to have on your life. It became clear – I have been WAY undercharging and devaluing what I am offering to my clients.
Which got me confused. On the one hand I want to be able to work with as many people as possible to empower them to live the life of their dreams. But on the other hand, I also want to be able to afford the life of my dreams. It took me a full year to get comfortable with the reality that I can do both.
The conclusion I reached is this: my good work needs to be supported AND coaching is a premium investment. As the saying goes, ‘people who pay, pay attention’. And there is nothing more satisfying for me, than working with people who are all in on their journey of healing and personal growth.
