Listen To Your Body | #TuesdayTruths


Our bodies are constantly telling us when something is wrong but so often we do not hear the warnings.
I recently experienced this when I had a skin irritation on my legs. My gut instinct told me it was due to a weekend of over indulgence but instead of listening I continued to eat sugar and all the things I know my body does not enjoy. Two days later my legs were so bad that I was put on heavy duty medication and spent a week in serious discomfort.

The following week I decided to listen to my body instead – I ate healthier foods, I meditated and I allowed myself time off to rest. I also signed myself up for a host of sessions from reiki & hypnotherapy to coaching and supervision. The amount of insight and learning I gained in that week of self-reflection was enormous and had I not gone through the physical discomfort I might not have put myself through the emotional discomfort either. As challenging as some of it was, I feel like I have come out the other side feeling lighter and more in touch with myself. I am so grateful for this experience!

The point I am trying to make is listen to your body. It knows what you need and it knows when something is wrong.
Begin your day by sitting quietly for 5 min and imagining your body as a person sitting in front of you. Ask this ‘body’ how it feels about the day ahead and then listen to the response. You’ll be amazed at the clarity you will achieve.
